Amy Lillegard- Wilson has played violin and viola for 30 years and taught for 13 years. She is also a “Suzuki kid” having started violin at age 3 in Monett, MO. Amy received her Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Arkansas in 2001, and her Masters of Violin Performance emphasis in Suzuki Pedagogy from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT in 2006. She has taught at the Suzuki Music School of Arkansas, The Sun Foundation Suzuki School in Peoria, IL, and The Suzuki Music School of Westport in Westport, CT. Amy has taught not only private violin, and viola lessons, but also group classes, orchestra, and parent classes. She has also had her teaching rewarded with invitations to teach at The Ogontz Suzuki Institute in NH, The Intermountain Suzuki Strings Institute in UT, and La Academia de Suzuki winter workshop in Puerto Rico. Amy has also played professionally with the North West Arkansas Symphony, The Fort Smith Symphony, The Peoria Symphony, Opera Illinois, The New Britain Symphony, and the Trans-Syberian Orchestra. She is also a founding member of the recording group Maximo Hombre. Amy is available to speak to any parent interested in opening the world of violin or viola to their child (no matter what age, even adults!).
